Open Question: Choose my car, what do you think?

I have chosen a used Honda Civic 2002 EX Coupe (fair condition) to begin the process of inspection and purchase. The car is gonna cost somewhere between $5000-$5500. It has 70k miles on it, and has bumper damage that may or may not need to repaired. I'm purchasing it from an independent seller. She is selling it because she is going to graduate school out of the country, I found her ad thru craigslist. I've made an appointment with a local mechanic to look at it for me tomorrow. This is my first car so I want to know if I'm purchasing a reliable, safe car. I ordered a carfax before I saw the car, it only has one owner, no history of accidents.
